A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed across the street from an NYPD stationhouse in Brooklyn on Monday, cops said.
Laquan Nelson was standing on a walkway right outside the Lafayette Gardens Housing project on Classon Ave., where he lived, when the unknown gunman fired the shots at 5:45 p.m., cops said.
An officer had just walked up the steps of the 88th Precinct when he noticed a large crowd just before the shooting occurred, a law enforcement source said.
When the cop came back outside to see what was going on, Laquan mustered enough strength to walk toward the stationhouse.
But he collapsed only steps from the precinct, the source said.
The youth died at Brooklyn Hospital, cops said.
