Denmark’s parliament has been forced to pull a smutty cartoon advert aimed at getting younger citizens to vote in an upcoming election.
The spot sparked outrage after it saw main character “Voteman” indulging in a seedy five-way oral sex scene, brutal violence and a decapitation.
He also punches non-voters in the face and interrupts a couple having sex so they can go and cast their ballot.
It was removed from YouTube and the official parliamentary website after politicians ruled it had “crossed the line.”
“Many found the EU Information Center’s cartoon to be much more damaging and offensive than it was intended to be,” parliament chairman Mogens Lykketoft told the Copenhagen Post.
“Reactions are sharply divided between those who find it lame and who find it crude but acceptable humour that could raise awareness of the election on May 25,” he said.
“The latter was the intention,” he added.
