Despite Dominating in Shots, Rangers Again Blanked by Penguins

The New York Rangers outshot the Pittsburgh Penguins 35-15 in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference semifinal Monday night, but the result was the same as the night before: no goals.

Playing their fifth game in seven days, the Rangers fell 2-0 to the Penguins at Madison Square Garden, and now trail the best-of-seven series two games to one.

The Blueshirts again failed to capitalize with the man advantage, going 0-for-5 on the night despite peppering Penguins’ goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury with shots.

Benoit Pouliot and Martin St. Louis both hit posts early in the game, but the Blueshirts’ power play filed to convert for the 33rd time in a row.

Game 4 is Wednesday night at the Garden.
