F Train Derailment in Queens Injures 19, Causes Delays

The MTA says due to a train derailment at 65th Street in Woodside, Queens, E, F, R and M trains are running with delays in both directions.

A Manhattan-bound F train derailed in the E and F line tunnel located south of 65th Street and Broadway at about 10:30 a.m.

According to officials, 19 passengers were injured in the derailment. Of those, 15 are minor injuries while four people are being treated at area hospitals for potentially serious injuries.

The police and fire departments evacuated passengers from the train through subway grates.

The derailment has caused delays on multiple train lines. MTA CEO Thomas Prendergast said the MTA hopes to restore service for the rush hour by using local tracks.

There is no E train service between Jamaica Center/Parsons Archer and Queens Plaza in both directions.

There is no F train service between Jamaica/179 St and 21 St/Queensbridge in both directions.

There is no M train service between 71 Ave./Forest Hills and Essex St in both directions.
