Jon Hamm plays in a fantasy football league with ESPN guru Bill Simmons and Jimmy Kimmel’s cousin, Sal Iacono. But one year, he explained on Tuesday night’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” he was thrown out of the proceedings.
“The rule in this league is every year, ‘Survivor’ style, one person gets kicked out of the league,” Hamm explained. “There’s no rhyme or reason to it. Whoever wins the league picks. They pick the person who’s out, and you don’t know until draft day.”
One year, the 43-year-old actor said, he was the unlucky pick.
Hamm was rushing from a “Mad Men” shoot one draft day when he sat down and heard the news.
“I heard your reaction was that you looked at them you drank you beer, you said no words, you pack your stuff, you walk right out,” Kimmel said.
“That’s exactly what happened,” Hamm said.
Luckily, the rule only ousts a player for one year. The following year, Hamm returned and Kimmel’s cousin Iacono was the one kicked out, and didn’t take it well.
“You’re saying my beloved cousin was a sore loser,” Kimmel joked.
“Maybe a little bit,” Hamm said.
