Police are asking for help identifying a man in connection with an East Village assault.
Police say the man approached a 68-year-old man shortly before 9 p.m. Friday night on 6th Street near Avenue D.
They say the suspect started yelling at the victim and then pushed him.
Police say the victim then fell to the ground and the suspect began punching and kicking him in the head.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Police say the man did not know the attacker.
