43-Year-Old Man Killed in Bronx Traffic Accident was Armed

Police have a man in custody after an armed man was killed in a traffic accident.

Cops say four men were chasing a 25-year-old when he got into a minivan.

Police say the 43-year-old victim was crossing University Avenue between West 175th and 176th street when he was hit by the van, leaving him with severe head trauma.

They say the victim’s ex-girlfriend was in the van, which then took off.

The victim was found with a gun next to him and was later pronounced dead at Bronx Lebanon Hospital.

One neighbor described what he heard.

“When I wake up this morning, the police was come, knock the door, they tell me somebody got kill outside, do you know something about it? I told them no, I heard the noise, the car, somebody was screaming, but I didn’t know somebody’s that serious and dead. It’s like every night they do the same thing.”

The 25 year old driver of the minivan is in police custody.

Police say he has not been arrested or charged.
