A missing Brooklynite who worked as a magazine writer and had a bit part in a 1960s B-movie has been found dead, police said Monday.
The body of John Cocchi, 74, was discovered in the waters off Sandy Hook, N.J., at 6 a.m. on June 16, cops said. There were no signs of trauma to his body.
The Bay Ridge resident was last seen walking out of his home on Gelston Ave. about 8:30 p.m. on April 16.
He was found wearing the same clothes — a blue shirt and blue jeans — he was seen in that day, police said.
Cocchi, a one-time entertainment writer for a magazine in Midtown, also wrote a movie quiz book and a non-fiction work about B-level Westerns, his family told The News.
Cocchi played a small role in the 1966 film “Captain Celluloid vs. the Film Pirates.”
