Newly released video shows a Florida man leading police on a frantic car chase before the stolen van he was driving flipped.
Not on the dashcam video is footage of six officers opening fire on the wrecked vehicle after Luke Castello, who was behind the wheel, showed a gun.
Port Orange police officers have been cleared of any wrongdoing in the violent 2013 chase, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
The ordeal began with Castello carjacking a minivan from the parking lot of a seedy motel.
Dennis Johnson and Brittany Brooks said they were robbed at gunpoint and forced to tie themselves up.
Both managed to escape, but Castello took off in the woman’s Dodge Caravan, police said, armed with three weapons.
Cops spotted the van a short time later and gave chase, winding in and out of traffic, through a Walmart parking lot and onto Interstate 95 at speeds surpassing 80 mph.
