Police Question Person in Connection with Deadly Bronx Shooting

Police are questioning someone in connection with a shooting at a late-night party in the Bronx that left one teen dead and two wounded.

Police say it happened around 1 a.m. Sunday at a house on East 232nd street in Wakefield.

Seventeen-year-old Keshon Porterfield was hit in the back and later died at Montefiore Hospital.

A neighbor described what happened.

“When I heard this, I figured it was somebody doing fireworks, because they do that. Then I closed my eyes, and heard ‘BOOM’ again, which was two times. But like I said to me, I’m not familiar with gunshots, but to me it was like an explosion,”

The two other victims were taken to the hospital. Their conditions are described as stable.

Police have not identified the person they’re questioning as a suspect.
