Lauren Conrad and a couple of her closest gal pals took to the beaches of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for the former “Hills” star’s bachelorette party.
Conrad, 28, posted several photos to Instagram from her fun weekend, tagging the excursion “#DontTellMrTell,” referencing her husband-to-be, William Tell.
The best-selling author and her girls, including “Laguna Beach” alum Lo Bosworth, took in the sun and sand ahead of the nuptials to Conrad’s lawyer beau.
But the weekend wasn’t without its drama. On Thursday the “L.A. Candy” author took to her Twitter to call out a local tourist hot spot for what she apparently saw as an anti-gay policy.
“The Office in Cabo does not allow same sex couples to participate in couple games,” she wrote. “Had to walk out. #equality #StopTheHate”
The former reality star shared her frustration with over 3 million Twitter followers, and it made its way back to the owners of the Cabo restaurant.
During a dinner game an emcee apparently made a joke about Conrad and her friends attempting to play together, a manager from the restaurant told People magazine, calling it a “huge misunderstanding.”
The game involved couples squeezing against each other to pop a balloon.
“We’d like to make a public apology,” the manager told People. “Obviously [the emcee, from an outside company,] didn’t mean it to be offensive. It’s a huge misunderstanding.”
“We don’t care what sexuality [they are]. The only thing we don’t allow in the restaurant is smoking. That’s the only rule we have.”
Conrad and Tell, a lawyer, got engaged in October last year, after two years of dating.
“I am beyond thrilled!” she wrote in a blog post at the time. “William and I are overwhelmed by all of your warm wishes.”
The “Hills” standout became a household name after turning her MTV fame into a lengthy fashion career – spawning a line of clothing, jewelry and shoes for Kohl’s department stores – and penning several books, including New York Times bestseller “L.A. Candy.”
