Green will be the color of the day in Midtown, as the 253rd annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade makes its way up Fifth Avenue.
The parade kicks off at 11 a.m.
It runs up Fifth from 44th Street to 79th Street and is expected to draw about two million spectators.
But some prominent city officials including Mayor Bill de Blasio and City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito will not be marching today.
They are boycotting the parade because of rules that prevent gay and lesbian groups from identifying themselves while marching.
Guinness also dropped its sponsorship of the parade, saying it has a strong history of supporting diversity and being an advocate for equality for all.
