Plane makes emergency landing at JFK after bird strike

A JetBlue flight made an emergency landing at JFK on Friday morning after striking birds, according to the airline.

Flight 671 took off from Westchester County Airport at 8:41 a.m. and was headed to West Palm Beach, Fla., when the bird strike happened at about 9:30 a.m., a JetBlue official said.

The Airbus A320 landed safely at JFK at 9:55 a.m.

There were no immediate injuries reported among the 142 passengers on board.

“The captain elected to divert to JFK International Airport out of an abundance of caution,” airline spokesman Loren DurĂ¡n said.
