Goldstein High School, was arrested Wednesday for bringing two toy guns to school. Her husband said that she cleared the loaded lesson with school security.

A Brooklyn teacher who was arrested for bringing a toy gun to school was just trying to teach her students a lesson.

Leon M. Goldstein High School for the Sciences educator Vilma Latalladi was busted for bringing two bogus guns to school on Wednesday — but her husband claims that she cleared the shocking show and tell with school officials, her husband said.

“She was gonna do a lesson a plan — something about talking about violence with the kids,” husband Rick Luisi said Thursday at their family home in the Rockaways. “My wife could take a staple and make it into a lesson plan.”

Latalladi, who was later released with a summons, spooked her students when she unholstered two guns — a toy pistol and a replica Red Ryder air rifle made famous in the film “A Christmas Story.”

“She cleared it with security, she had already gone through security and was in the classroom when they started to make a big deal about it,” Luisi said. “There’s documentation to prove it.”

Latalladi will have to answer to Department of Education officials about her off-target teaching moment at a meeting on Thursday. Luisi said his wife doesn’t have a malicious bone in her body.

“All I know is my wife is innocent. She didn’t do nothing. She’s an angel from heaven. She’s by the book,” Luisi said. “She doesn’t even swear, she gets mad at me when I do.”

Nine-year-old Ralphie Parker wants only one thing for Christmas: a Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle with a compass in the stock and "this thing which tells time". Ralphie's desire is refuted with his mother, his teacher Miss Shields, and even a department store Santa Claus, all giving him the same warning: "you'll shoot your eye out".Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Her husband said the air rifle was the same toy used by little Ralphie Parker in the 1983 film “A Christmas Story.”

Latalladi was one of two city instructors busted on Wednesday. DeWitt Clinton High School teacher Jack Israel was hit with assault charges after he shoved an officer who was breaking up a fight, police said.

It’s unclear whether Latalladi will be suspended or fired for the loaded lapse in judgment. The city DOE could be immediatley reached for comment.
