Representatives from the North Central Bronx Hospital and local lawmakers are set to announce the reopening of the hospital’s labor and delivery unit.
The formal announcement will be made Monday.
The unit was closed down in August because of a severe staff shortage.
Its closing drew protests from community members, who pushed to have the unit reopened.
