Both N.Y. teams wanted him, but Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie ends up signing with the Giants.
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie visited the Jets Saturday. On Monday, he became a Giant.
The 27-year-old former Denver Bronco reached the deal late Monday, according to an NFL source. It’s a five-year deal worth $ 35 million, the source said.
That’s quite a drop from the six-year, $ 54 million offer that Rodgers-Cromartie had gotten from the Broncos before free agency began. But it’s still a lot more than it appeared the Giants would be able to spend. According to a source, the two sides were far apart when negotiations began when he arrived for his visit on Sunday.

The gap, however, was closed after he took his physical on Monday morning.
The 6-2, 193-pound “DRC” had three interceptions last year with the Broncos and has 19 in a six-year career that has also taken him to Arizona and Philadelphia.
While the move bolsters the Giants’ secondary, it puts the Jets in a spot where they may to turn back to Antonio Cromartie to fill their void at corner.
The Jets released him last week.
