Police Identify Suspect in Connection With Hammer Attacks in Brooklyn, Queens


Police believe they have identified a suspect in a string of hammer attacks in Brooklyn and Queens.


Investigators are looking for 28-year-old Anthony Coward.


Police say Coward approaches his victims from behind, strikes them in the head with a hammer and then robs them.


The most recent attack happened this past Wednesday at the Rockaway Avenue subway station in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn.


A similar attack also happened at that same station on May 4.


Coward is also suspected of attacking a 26-year-old woman in the Briarwood section of Queens.
