The 28-year-old man who was viciously beaten by a pair of creeps who whipped him with sticks in the Bronx has died, cops said Wednesday.


Louis Melendez, 28, died at Lincoln Hospital days after he suffered the beating near the Grand Concourse at Rockwood St. in Mount Eden on April 23, cops said.


Menendez was pummeled about the face, head and torso, sources said.


Cops arrested Ruben Rodriguez, 17, later that day in connection with the beating, police said.


Charges against the alleged attacker, who has also been arrested five other times for other infractions, have been upgraded to murder, police said


Cops are still searching for the other assailant.
