Five Hospitalized Following Harlem Car Crash

Five people were sent to the hospital, including an 8-day-old baby, following a car crash in Harlem Friday night.

It happened on Seventh Avenue and 145th Street around 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Investigators say a woman driving a black sedan was turning onto 145th Street when she was hit by a man driving a GMC truck.

The sedan then hopped a curb and hit a pedestrian.

“A car came swerving from off the curb, and it ran into the Allstate thing, and then it kept on going out of control into the store. But people was panicking and was running everywhere, and they didn’t know really what to do,” said one person at the scene.

“I seen a little kid in the back in a car seat. So it was so quick, but I ran into the car to try to just get the baby out,” said another.

A 34-year-old man and a baby girl were in the sedan.

The three of them, the driver of the truck and the pedestrian all suffered minor injuries.

Police say the driver of the truck is now in custody, though no charges have been filed.

Sources tell NY1 witnesses at the scene saw the man throwing beer bottles in the trash.
