A former New York businessman convicted of arson-murder was freed from prison this week after spending 24 years behind bars.
A U.S. District judge threw out 79-year-old Han Tak Lee’s conviction because the science used to convict him has since been discredited.
He was serving life without parole in a Pennsylvania prison for the 1989 fire that killed his 20-year-old daughter.
He plans to live in Flushing now that he is out.
Prosecutors say they will likely appeal the decision, saying they have other evidence suggesting it was arson.
