A replica 19th century schooner ran aground near Liberty Island on Saturday afternoon, stranding 130 people in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty.
Clipper City, a 158-foot topsail schooner, became stuck in shallow water just south of Lady Liberty shortly before 1:15 p.m., officials said.
A U.S. Coast Guard spokesperson said that the Coast Guard, NYPD, and FDNY each deployed three ships to rescue the 121 passengers and 9 crew members from the stranded vessel.
No injuries were reported, and the ship was not taking on water, the spokesperson said.
It was not immediately clear how the vessel became stuck.
