Two people were injured Monday afternoon when a car sailed off the Cross Bronx Expressway and crashed on a busy service road below, authorities said.

The 2007 red Toyota Matrix was motoring west along the Cross Bronx Expressway extension when it fell to the Bruckner Expressway Service Road near Brush Ave. in the Unionport section of the Bronx at 3:12 p.m., cops said.

The 54-year-old driver and his passenger, a woman who is also 54, were both rescued from the mangled car and taken to Jacobi Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, cops said.
