Sources: Seymour Hoffman Found With Cocaine In Addition to Heroin

Law enforcement sources tell NY1 that in addition to heroin, actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was also found with cocaine on him.

Hoffman was found dead in his Manhattan apartment of an apparent drug overdose Sunday.

An autopsy is being conducted to determine an exact cause of death.

Sources say two friends found Hoffman in the bathroom with a needle in his arm.

Law enforcement sources say that dozens of bags of heroin were found in the home with the symbols and names “Ace of Hearts” and “Ace of Spades” printed on them.

Those names and symbols could be used to track down whoever sold the heroin.

Mayor Bill de Blasio spoke about the city’s loss Monday on radio station WNYC.

“Quintessential New Yorker in the sense of just everything we love about this place, his creativity and his amazing ability to portray the human condition, and it’s absolutely tragic,” de Blasio said. “And I think, look, what I can say about his life is, even someone of that extraordinary achievement grapples with the demons of substance abuse, and we have to keep surfacing this reality in our society and getting people help.”

Lights will be dimmed on Broadway Wednesday to honor the star of stage and screen.

Hoffman is survived by his partner of 15 years, Mimi O’Donnell, and their three children.

He was 46 years old.
