Arzo, an undocumented immigrant, was being held at an immigration detention center in Dallas, after federal agents caught him trying to enter the U.S.
Sierra and his brother, Fernando, said the Bronx District Attorney’s Office knew about the DNA match since a cold case detective from the NYPD put toghether the pieces, and also that Arzo was in custody and that the suspect told detectives he had a relationship with Rodriguez.
Still, they did not move to extradite him.
“I am trying to maintain my composure, and trying to hold onto my faith,” Sierra said. “It’s an injustice.”
