The city is getting ready to welcome Democratic party officials scouting New York as a possible site for the 2016 National Convention.
Delegates are expected to tour Barclays Center Monday morning and even get a taste of some of Brooklyn’s culinary treats.
Mayor Bill de Blasio said the city is ready to do everything it can to woo the convention planners.
“On the question of what we hope to achieve, it’s very straightforward. We are going to show the site selection committee that New York City in general, Brooklyn in particular, is going to pull out the stops. We are going to pull out the stops to win this convention for New York City,” de Blasio said.
The delegates will be hosted in Manhattan and dine at The Met Monday night with local leaders and host committee members.
Before leaving Tuesday, they will have a barbecue at Gracie Mansion.
The Empire State Building will be lit with the Democratic Party’s blue color on Monday and Tuesday night.
