A new logo is now in place for the World Trade Center.
A symbol meant to unify the 16-acre site will now appear on signs and marketing materials.
Created by Landor Associates, the graphic has many meanings and depends on how one looks at it.
Designers say it appears to be a “W” to represent the World Trade Center.
It can also be interpreted as the five buildings that stand at the site.
There’s also a resemblance to the steel trident that was found after the towers collapsed.
However viewed, the firm says it’s meant to be a symbol of the city’s resilience.
The group was awarded $ 3.57 million for the new logo.
