Va. man cleans out wallet to find $1M Powerball ticket

Robert Manning, of Springfield, Va., recently cleaned out his wallet and decided to check the stack of Powerball tickets he'd been carrying around. It turned out one of the tickets -- which he'd purchased March 5 -- was worth a cool million bucks.

Robert Manning, of Springfield, Va., recently decided to check the stack of Powerball tickets he’d been carrying around in his wallet when he realized he was a millionaire.




He was a millionaire for a little more than a week and hadn’t a clue.


That was until recent Powerball winner Robert Manning finally checked his stack of tickets, he left piling up in his wallet, and discovered the life-changing news.

The winning ticket was purchased on March 5 but not checked by Manning until recently.

“It feels crazy,” Manning, of Springfield, Va. said in release. “It feels like there’s nine million things going through my mind.”


Or perhaps that number’s more like 1 million as that’s exactly how much he’s due to receive from his March 5 purchase.

Manning, who’s a federal employee, noted the win as particularly coming at a good time with him having one child in collage and another one a year away.
