Cops save two people and a dog from Queens fire

NRPaul Kazmercyk/Getty Images Two officers helped a woman and her daughter escape from a fire in Queens on Thursday. They also grabbed a dog before fleeing the flames.

Two fast-acting cops saved residents and a dog from a burning Queens building Thursday.


Patrol officers Edwin Diaz and Christopher Sarinaccio came upon the blaze on Fresh Pond Road near 68th Ave. in Ridgewood at 11:32 a.m., cops said. They helped a mom, 45, and her daughter, 11, leave. Knocking on doors, they heard scratchingand found a boxer. The cops grabbed the pooch and fled the flames.
