Man attacks mom and sisters with hammer, then kisses one

A hammer-swinging homeless man attacked a sleeping mom and two sisters in their Queens apartment this week —stealing a kiss from one and property from the others while cracking all three women in their heads.

Lawrence Parsons, 29, allegedly broke into the Asoria apartment of Ilene Picota, at 2:40 a.m. on April 20, bashing the 53-year-old mom in the head as her adult daughters, Dawn Picota and Miriam Ozzimo, slept in their beds.

Dawn, 31, was jolted awake by the mom’s horrifying screams, and heroically tried to intercede, according to court papers. But Parsons allegedly turned his hammer on her, too, striking her in the head hard enough that she blacked out.

Dawn suffered a broken left orbital bone and has lost eyesight in her left eye.

The second sister, Ozzimo, 58, also bravely took on the crazed man — but he struck her in the skull as well, though cops weren’t sure if he was still swinging the hammer.

Ozzima “felt someone kiss her on the forehead” as she lay bleeding after the assault, court papers say.

The women were taken to Elmhurst and New York Presbytarian Hospitals in critical condition for several skull and facial fractures.

Prior to the attack, Parsons had walked up to Picota on the street and made a pass at her, but she told him to get lost, sources said, adding that the two are “known to each other.”

Investigators are probing whether Parsons was intoxicated on drugs or alcohol during the savage assault.

He was allegedly caught on video surveillance repeatedly ringing the buzzer to enter the building building and then leaving with a cell phone, laptop and an iPad.

He was charged with first-degree attempted murder, assault and a slew of other charges after fingerprints from the scene matched. He was arraigned on Wednesday and held on $ 150,000 bail.

The alleged burglar had admitted to his parole officer that he robbed the three women “knew he should not have…will do whatever time he has to do” and “is scared that he might go to jail for life,” court papers said.

Parsons has 20 prior convictions dated back to 2002 including three robberies, two assaults, trespassing and fraud. He was recently released from prison for an attempted robbery charge.
