Woman, 19, fatally stabbed outside Bronx apartment

A 19-year-old woman was fatally stabbed outside her Bronx apartment building Saturday morning, cops said. Jasmine Canton (pictured) was arguing with a man outside the building on Creston Ave. near E. 193rd St. when he plunged a knife into her chest about at 9:30 a.m., police said. Canton — who lives in a basement apartment in the building — was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital where she died. Canton’s killer fled. Canton — who lives in a basement apartment in the building — was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital where she died.


Canton’s killer fled.


Authorities could not immediately provide a motive for the grisly crime.


There were 19 murders in the Bronx through April 20, according to NYPD statistics, a 36% increase from the 14 homicides during the same period last year.
