Holiday weekend sees 11 shot in 5 hours in NYC

The city suffered through yet another weekend of gun violence, with two people shot dead and nine more injured in just over five hours alone, cops said Sunday.

A third person also died of a head wound so grisly that cops couldn’t tell if the victim had been shot, stabbed or beaten.

The dead included Tamecca Haskins, 32, who was shot at 2:25 a.m. in Brooklyn during an incident in which an unidentified man, 34, was also hit and critically injured.

Bullets also flew in in Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island, where another victim was fatally shot.

Devon Powell, 23, was lying along Arlington Place in Staten Island at about 5:10 a.m. with the gruesome head injury, sources said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, with an autopsy pending to determine the cause of death.

Last weekend, 15 people were shot — including three who died — in fewer than 12 hours.

Another 21 people were hit by bullets over the first weekend of summer, between June 20 and 22, with two dying in shootings at barbecues in The Bronx and Brooklyn.
