Ray Kelly says ISIS is a threat to America

Former NYPD police commissioner Raymond Kelly said Sunday that the Island State of Iraq and Syria poses a significant threat to America.

The advancement of ISIS, which has as much as $ 2 billion to spend on acts of mayhem, is “very, very problematic” and proof we live in a “complex and dangerous world,” Kelly said in a radio interview with John Catsimatidis.

“For the first time we see a terrorist organization with significant resources,” Kelly said. “They have some sophisticated weaponry that they’ve been able to confiscate from the Iraqi army and they clearly have a desire to hurt this country, to kill Americans.”

“And something that I don’t see this threat waning, I don’t see it dissipating, and I think we are going to be involved with fighting terrorism for a long, long time to come,” he said.

Kelly also weighed in on the kidnapping and killing of three Israeli teens and the subsequent murder of a Palestinian youth last month.

“Let’s hope cooler heads can prevail but right now it doesn’t look good at all,” he said.

Since stepping down as the city’s top cop, Kelly has been working for commercial real estate broker Cushman & Wakefield and has no regrets about not entering the mayor’s race.

“It’s a terrific company they’re taking good care of me,” he said. “I have no regrets. I wish the current administration well because we need them.”
