The Democratic National Committee will visit Barclay’s Center today as the city makes a bid to host the 2016 Democratic National Convention.
Senator Charles Schumer, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton and the developer of Barclays are part of the group that will take members of the Democratic National Committee on a tour of the arena.
Mayor Bill de Blasio will not be at the visit as he has another event on his schedule. He will, however, join the selection committee at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for dinner.
On Tuesday the committee is scheduled to check out the Brooklyn Academy of Music where they will meet with cultural leaders.
Their visit will come to a close after a barbecue at Gracie Mansion.
