Naked man rescued from Hudson River buoy

A 35-year-old man was spotted naked on a buoy off a pier near Battery Park and was rescued by police early Thursday, authorities said.

The Coast Guard alerted the NYPD’s Harbor unit that there was a man sitting on a deep water buoy around 6:50 a.m., near Liberty Street in the Hudson River, according to authorities.

Harbor cops were able to get him on a rescue boat and to the shore where he was sent to Bellevue Hospital for evaluation, cops said.

He was conscious and alert and believed to be in stable condition, cops said.

It wasn’t immediately clear how he got into the water or onto the buoy.
