The agency says the last car of a four-car train derailed as it approached the terminal around 1:48 p.m.

The MTA says 90 customers, including eight who were in the derailed car, were removed and escorted to the St. George station.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.

As a result, service on the Staten Island Railroad has been suspended in both directions between Jefferson Avenue and St. George on Staten Island.

Customers are advised to use the S51, S74, S84, S76 and S86 buses.
