PA Kids Abducted by Father Found Safe on Staten Island

Two children who were abducted from Pennsylvania early this morning have been found alive on Staten Island.

Police say they found the children at the CVS pharmacy on Victory Boulevard in Westerleigh.

Their father, identified as Keith Belajonas, 32, tried to rob his brother who works at the store at gunpoint.

The Nissan Pathfinder that the suspect was driving matched the description of the car identified in an Amber Alert issued in Pennsylvania early Thursday morning.

Police then brought the boys, ages 4 and 5, out of the store and transported them to a local hospital.

Authorities say the children appear to be fine but child protective services are checking on them.

Police later found Belajonas in his car with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police believe the abduction took place after Belajonas fatally shot and stabbed his wife Christina during a domestic dispute.

An investigation is ongoing.
