A person is in critical condition and several others were injured when a bus collided with two cars in the Lincoln Tunnel during the Tuesday morning commute, Port Authority Police said.
The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. when the bus and two other cars collided inside the tunnel near the New Jersey side in Weehawken, authorities said.
Tunnel and Bridge agents, along with Port Authority police, responded to the scene where at least seven people suffered injuries, a spokesman for the PAPD said.
One person from the wreckage in cardiac arrest, the spokesman said.
The others suffered injuries believed to be non-life threatening.
The center tunnel will remain closed while officials investigate the cause of the accident.
All traffic is being diverted to the south tunnel with inbound delays.
It wasn’t immediately clear what type of bus was involved in the crash.
