Work by Brooklyn artists is being featured this weekend at Architectural Digest’s 13th annual Home Design Show.
The show, being held at Manhattan’s Pier 94, gives people an opportunity to buy some unique items for the home.
It features indoor and outdoor furniture, housewares, and lighting at a variety of pricepoints.
One artist who spoke with NY1 says much of his work was destroyed during Hurricane Sandy, and he now uses the storm’s destruction for inspiration.
“I got a tree that fell during the storm and I’m drying the pieces in my shop. As they become dry they’re available for custom orders, and you’re able to own a historic piece of wood. In addition, part of the proceeds on these pieces go to the Mayor’s fund to benefit the victims of Sandy,” said Stefan Rurek, a Brooklyn-based artist.
The show will be open until 7 p.m. Saturday and again from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are available at the door for $ 40 dollars or at adhomedesignshow.com.
