Brooklyn Teen Riding Skateboard Critically Injured by Car

A 16-year-old was in critical condition Saturday after getting hit by a car while riding his skateboard in Brooklyn.

Police say the teen was riding near the corner of East 98th and Willmohr Streets near his home in Brownsville when he was struck.

He was taken to King’s County Hospital.

“And all of a sudden I heard a loud boom, and I noticed there was a body at the corner and I rushed over there to see if he was okay. The young man seemed to be unconscious and it was like, you know he got hit by a car,” said one witness.

“He was coughing up blood, spitting out blood, just the whole scene was crazy,” noted another witness.

Police say the driver remained on the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
