Shots were fired during a baby shower in Brooklyn late Saturday, sending at least two people — but not the mom-to-be — to the hospital, officials and witnesses said.
The happy affair held by a Coney Island family at the Excelsior Yacht Club on Shore Parkway ended in gunfire at about 11 p.m. Saturday, witnesses said.
“There was a shooting,” one woman confirmed as she and other guests packed unopened shower gifts into an awaiting livery cab.
A stream of blood ran into the street next to colorfully wrapped presents, one with a teddy bear peeking out, and a package of diapers. Officials said a man was shot in the arm.
At least one shooting victim took himself to Coney Island Hospital for treatment, according to a preliminary report. Paramedics were also called to the marina to assist a woman with difficulty breathing. She was ultimately taken to Coney Island Hospital for treatment, according to an FDNY spokesman.
The shooter was still at large early Sunday.
