Police say they have someone in custody in connection to the fatal accident that claimed the life of a young girl in Brooklyn.
Sources say 26-year-old Robert Decarlo turned himself in.
He is being held at a Brooklyn precinct.
Police believe he was driving a stolen mini van that jumped a curb Wednesday afternoon, hitting a mother and her two girls.
It happened near Flatlands Avenue and East 46th Street.
Police say 12-year-old Joey Sellers was walking with her mother and 9-year-old sister when the van slammed into them.
Joey was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital.
Her mother and sister are in critical condition.
“We seen the car crash, we seen two girls laying down on the floor by the car…a lot of blood. Then we realized somebody else was under the car so me and a couple of my friends pushed the car over and then started to pick up the girl or whatever to see if she was okay,” said one witness.
Police say Decarlo fled on foot.
They say the 2005 Dodge Caravan was stolen last Friday on McDonald Avenue.
