San Diego doesn’t want to see something like this happen in the Qualcomm Stadium parking lot.
The cops in San Diego have thrown the flag on parking lot passes.
A Chargers fan was handed a $ 280 ticket last month for violating San Diego Municipal Code 59.0502, which prohibits tossing the football prior to games at Qualcomm Stadium.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune , Jesse Unger was approached by police before a Chargers-Colts game and was told to stop throwing the ball around. When he did not comply, he was handed the ticket.
While the cops told him the penalty — which Unger claims even one of the cops said was ridiculous — was for $ 60 bucks, when he looked it up online he found out that the actual penalty was $ 280.

Unger decided to fight the fine, and the judge dismissed the ticket. Who says you can’t fight city hall?
According to the law, “it is unlawful for any person to do the following within the QUALCOMM … Intentionally throw, discharge, launch, or spill any solid object (including footballs, baseballs, frisbees and other such devices) or liquid substance, or otherwise cause such object or substance to be thrown, discharged, launched, spilled, or to become airborne.”
You also can’t light off fireworks or stinkbombs, which seems reasonable, but rollerblading, volleyball, bike riding, soccer, football and basketball are among other activities are outlawed.
Drinking alcohol, however, is not on the list of prohibited activities.
