Police investigate the scene where Carolina Cobena, 29, was shot in the head at her Queens apartment. Her live-in boyfriend, Rolando Perez, is charged with second-degree murder.
A 33-year-old man fatally shot his girlfriend, a Queens mom, cops said Wednesday.
Carolina Cobena, 29, was shot in the head with her 5-year-old son in the next room of the Elmhurst flat she shared with Rolando Perez.

He’s charged with second-degree murder and criminal use of a firearm.
Cops said Perez was going out at 1:50 a.m. and Cobena was shot after throwing money to the ground. Perez said the gun went off accidentally.
