A number 3 train at the 148th St. subway station in Harlem. A fire disrupted 2, 3 and 4 service to Brooklyn on Thanksgiving Day.
A raging fire on a Brooklyn subway track left hordes of hungry holiday straphangers stuck without Brooklyn-bound train service for hours Thursday, officials said.
The Brooklyn-bound 2, 3 and 4 subway lines were suspended south of Atlantic Ave. after a track fire between the stops at Nostrand and Franklin Aves. broke out just after 9:30 a.m., MTA officials said.
Heavy amounts of water may have caused the cables to short out, sparking the blaze, officials said. It took 60 smoke-eaters more than an hour to snuff out the fire.
Workers then took to the tunnel and made emergency repairs, restoring service to all three lines just before 3 p.m.
Southbound 5 subway service will end at Bowling Green through the weekend as workers continue to make repairs, officials said.
No one was hurt in the fire.
