Two women are dead after they were hit by a car on Staten Island early Wednesday evening.
The victims have been identified as 47-year-old Marion Anderson of Brooklyn and 59-year-old Lizette Sorrano of Staten Island.
Police say the two were crossing Forest Hill Road in New Springville at around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when they were hit.
They were taken to Staten Island University North Hospital, where both were pronounced dead on arrival.
Police say that the 59-year-old driver involved remained on the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
