Father And Son Injured In Building Collapse In The Bronx


A father and son were injured in a building collapse in the Bronx on Wednesday morning, according to the FDNY.


The collapse happened shortly before 8 a.m. at 2601 Westchester Avenue near an auto repair shop in Westchester Square. The building is a one-story commercial building.


The Fire Department says the victims suffered serious, but not life threatening injuries and were taken to Jacobi Hospital. Both are in stable condition.


According to authorities, the possible cause of the collapse was an air compressor, used for power tools, caused some type of explosion.


The Fire Department and Department of Buildings are investigating the collapse.


The building is a one-story commercial building.
