A city Department of Transportation supervisor pleaded guilty Friday to collecting a horde of child pornography with a co-worker who later ratted him out.
Anthony Spagnuolo, a supervisor of electricians at a DOT office in Maspeth, Queens, faces 5 to 70 years in prison for his depraved hobby.
Spagnuolo, 50, told Federal Judge Margo Brodie that in the late 1990s he and the co-worker learned they had the “same interest” in kiddie porn and he started amassing a trove of photos and videos depicting underage child engaged in sexual activity.
Sources identified the other DOT worker as David Yepez, who has secretly taped Spagnuolo discussing their illegal activity. Yepez pleaded guilty to child pornography charges last April.
Spagnuolo, according to court papers, also admitted to an FBI agent that he spied on young children coming and going from Public School 49 in Middle Village from his apartment window, according to court papers.
He also told the feds that he showed his girlfriend kiddie porn while they were having sex and made her talk “like a little girl,” court papers state.
Spagnuolo is being held without bail.
