Police Seek Gunman After Two Shot At Bryant Park Skating Rink

Police are searching for the gunman who opened fire at the Bryant Park ice skating rink Saturday night, hitting two people.

Shots ran out at the popular Midtown destination just after 11 p.m. Saturday.

One person was shot in the torso, and another in the leg.

One of the victims was left sprawled out on the ice as skaters scrambled for cover.

Witnesses on the scene tell NY1 that as many as five shots were fired.

“We heard about three shots, and then two more after,” one witness said. “So he got shot, and then they made sure he got shot. Also, one of the bullets hit someone in the leg, he was on the floor, but then he walked out to the exit. Another loose bullet hit someone in the hip. After that we just saw everybody running out, going crazy, people were just in chaos. It was quite terrifying.”

Police are investigating reports of a possible fight that may have broken out moments before the shooting.

Both victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital where police say their injuries are not life threatening.
