More trouble is reportedly brewing at Brooklyn’s struggling Long Island College Hospital.
The Brooklyn Eagle says the hospital’s operator, SUNY Downstate, stopped admissions and ambulance service at the facility last night.
SUNY Downstate previously banned ambulances from going to the hospital in June, but ambulances started delivering patients again in September.
SUNY has been trying to close LICH, claiming the hospital is losing millions of dollars.
But that effort has faced strong community and political opposition.
A judge put closure plans on hold in June when he ruled state laws surrounding hospital closures were unconstitutional.
