The Broadway musical “Spider Man: Turn Off the Dark” is turning off the house lights and hoping for a brighter future in Las Vegas.
The most expensive musical ever produced will have its last performance in New York on January 5.
It’ll end a run plagued by accidents and legal fights.
Before the show even got out of previews, a performer fell 30 feet and cracked his skull.
In August, another actor went to the hospital after injuring his leg on stage.
Cora Cahan, president of The New 42nd Street, a group dedicated to the resurgence of the area, confirmed the news to NY1 and said she’ll be sad to see it go.
“It’s had a fabulous run and it’s beautiful, beautiful work, both its first iteration and its second iteration. I loved them both,” said Cahan.
A spokesman confirms the move to Vegas, and promised more details in the weeks to come.
